Three Months of Strawberries

One of the applications of Canobi’s grow system is for remote or isolated communities, such as those in Canada’s north, where supply chain disruptions are a significant issue. So we’re building and testing our systems to require as few inputs as possible.

The strawberry trials we’re currently running in the Canobi Innovation Lab are a great example: not only do the strawberry plants make their own replacements in the form of runners which can be rooted directly into the system, but the plants themselves have a very long productive life, which means fewer replacement plants are needed, less often (which also reduces labour costs!)

Here are some pictures of the plants (variety: ‘Seascape’) that have been continuously producing sweet, delicious strawberries in the Innovation Lab for over 3 months.
